HOW TO TAKE CARE OF THE AOPIC SKIN WITH MULTILIND

My skin is extra dry. In fact, I have a tendency to suffer episodes of dry skin (xerosis) that cause me great discomfort. If you have dry skin, you will know what I am talking about. In addition to feeling of tightness, roughness, itchiness, and redness it causes, it can become extremely annoying. Above all, for the constant desire to scratch and the discomfort that it causes. My daughter Valentina, meanwhile, has suffered from atopic skin since she was born. It is not uncommon in infants and children, since it is estimated that between 2 and 20% have had some degree of atopic dermatitis or atopic eczema during their childhood. Therefore, we must be very consistent with their care, if we want to keep out the appearance of outbreaks. In this post I am going to give you some tips to take care of the atopic skins of your babies and I will talk about Multilind dry and extra-dry skin products.

The problem is compounded every year with the arrival of autumn. When temperatures and humidity drop, the symptoms of atopic and dry skin are more prominent. Above all, because cold and dry weather alters the protective layer of our skin. That is, the film that acts as a “barrier” to all external aggressions.

Therefore, it is especially in autumn and winter when I must be more careful with the care of my daughter’s atopic skin and mine. Throughout these years, along with the recommendations of pediatricians and dermatologists, I have discovered what works best to keep our skin hydrated and protected. I will share it below and I hope it can help you:

Tips for atopic skin

Be careful with the bathroom. When the cold comes, you really want to take a hot shower. However, it is not the best for our skin. Above all, if you have atopic or dry skin. Better a quick shower with warm water. Otherwise, you will eliminate that natural layer that protects it.
Regarding children, the same with the bathroom. Although it is part of your nighttime routine, it is better not to prolong it too much and control the water temperature. Equally important is the bath gel you use. Watch out! Most tend to be very aggressive to the skin.

It is essential that it be extremely soft and clean without drying out. In that sense, it is preferable to be a syndet bath gel (without soap). Also, it is not necessary to use a large amount of product and should be limited to those parts of the body that get dirty or sweat.

Finally, do not rub the skin with the towel. Better dry it with touches.

  • Hydration, hydration and hydration. Using a good moisturizer is essential to combat dry skin and prevent outbreaks of atopic dermatitis. It is essential to use it after each shower or bath and whenever you feel the skin tight or uncomfortable.
  • Intensive moisturizers. When you detect an irritated, rough or peeling area, it is advisable to apply a moisturizer for atopic skins specific to the outbreak phase. Acting on time can avoid complications in dermatitis and the use of topical corticosteroids.
  • Avoid scratching. For me, one of the worst symptoms of dry skin is the itching it produces. And, consequently, the uncontrollable desire to scratch the skin it causes. As much as possible, try not to. If not, you can cause injuries and facilitate the entry of microorganisms that can cause skin infections.
  • In that sense, it is a good idea to opt for moisturizers that include active ingredients such as pure microplate. Specifically, this ingredient has been shown to strengthen the skin’s barrier and, therefore, have a ‘shield’ effect.

To avoid scratching in children, especially at night, this is my trick: use long and tight pajamas on the sleeves and low. Keep in mind that scratching is often unconscious, even if you can make yourself real injuries.

At the same time, always ensure that the nails are short.

  • ‘Physical’ protection for the skin. The face and hands are the parts of the body that are most exposed. Therefore, those who suffer the most from the ravages of the cold.
So, in addition to using moisturizer for atopic, extra-dry or dry skin, protect these areas when you go outside. For example, with hats, gloves and sunglasses.
  • Extra care in the legs. Another part of the body where skin dryness is especially suffered are the legs. Above all, itching. This is because the skin of this area has very few sebaceous glands, responsible for producing the ‘fat’ that keeps it lubricated and protected.
  • That is why, after showering (and whenever I need it), I apply a lot of cream. The same with the children.
  • Look out for hand washing. Washing your hands too often can dry them out excessively. Therefore, try to do it with the same syndet bath gel whenever you can. If you cook, in no case use the soap of the dishes to wash your hands!
  • Avoid dry environments. Heating and stoves dry the environment and, consequently, the skin. Therefore, try not to have the temperature at home very high. Another trick is to use a humidifier in the rooms.

Products for atopic skins from Multilind

Like anyone who suffers from dry skin or has children with atopic dermatitis, I have tried many brands and products. Therefore, I want to tell you about my latest discovery: MULTILIND products for atopic, extra-dry and dry skin.

As I said, itching is for me the worst symptom of dry skin. This often makes controlling scratching really difficult.

In that sense, MULTILIND products reduce itching and skin irritation. Therefore, they prevent scratching and the formation of wounds that can then become infected.

In addition, when there are wounds, the skin is more vulnerable and more susceptible to allergies.

In parallel, its active ingredients reinforce the skin’s barrier function and, therefore, prevent the appearance of dermatitis outbreaks.

For starters, the MULTILIND bath gel has no soap (it is a syndet gel). Therefore, clean gently without drying out or irritating the skin. In addition, it is hypoallergenic, has moisturizing agents and helps control the balance of the bacterial flora of the skin.

For its part, the MULTILIND lotion provides immediate relief from itching and fights irritation, redness and peeling of the skin. All this, thanks to its formula with particles of pure microplate.

For the driest or most sensitive areas of the body, you have to try the MULTILIND intensive cream. Also formulated with pure microplate, it is a great ally to prevent dermatitis outbreaks or prevent them from getting worse.

Finally, what has been a discovery for me: its range for hair care. In fact, it makes all the sense in the world, because the scalp does not let it be skin. Therefore, those who suffer from dry skin or atopic dermatitis can also manifest their symptoms in this part of the body.

In that sense, MULTILIND shampoo is specifically formulated for sensitive scalps; just like the MULTILIND softener.

Another plus of this brand is that it is products for babies, children and adults. Without a doubt, an advantage, because we can use them all at home.

Did you know about MULTILIND products? And what has worked best for you in the care of the sensitive skin of your children?
