BACK TO SCHOOL WITH THE BUGABOO ANT

This summer we have been testing the Bugaboo Ant, the new Bugaboo stroller, the most compact and lightweight to date. It is ideal for family trips, to go shopping, to grandparents’ house, for the day to day of the family. In the photos you will see how we use it for the return to school. It is not only the most compact as I said but the lightest with only 7.2kg easy to lift and carry. It occupies very little and even serves as hand luggage on up to 52 airlines. Therefore it is a second chair ideal for travel but also to go to the nursery. You can carry it perfectly in the trunk of your car for when you need it or store it in any corner of your house, also easily fold it into the storage. The teachers will applaud you. It is so small and surprising that you will hear a Wow! When they see you with it, but you will also enjoy its exceptional handling. The Bugaboo Ant offers the smoothest and easiest ride with just one hand.

It is surprising that something so small can be a stroller so well designed and thought out. So robust and light at the same time. It has all the best qualities that a travel chair can have. Bugaboo has thought of everything. I have tried many strollers and they are flimsy. Some, the lighter ones, do not allow the backrest to rest, for example, for the baby’s rest. And others only hold 15 kg. which immediately falls short for a child who grows up and still needs to go in a chair when he is tired or sleepy. The use of the stroller or travel chair depends a lot on each child.

My first child was bigger and yet he didn’t want to sit down. He was very active and still is, I think at the age of two and a half he didn’t want any more chairs. My second daughter who weighed very little (and continues to weigh like this) used a chair sporadically in our getaways until age 5. You may be surprised but having a chair like the Bugaboo Ant in the trunk of the car is a relief. We went out to dinner at a restaurant and our children fell asleep. Carrying them to the hotel in arms was torture. Has it happened to you? If not yet, believe me, it will happen to you.

Returning to the Bugaboo Ant, I have made a demo video in which I show you how it folds and unfolds, how the handlebar and the chair are adjusted in different positions. All with one hand. It has red dots both on the handlebar and on the chassis that will indicate that the stroller is wide open and locked and, therefore, that it will work correctly. For example, on the handlebars you will see two red squares on each side. Keep in mind that it is only extendable in two positions. The closed position in which you see the red dots only serves to fold the handlebar in a compact way but not to use it while carrying the stroller (in the video I tell you clearly). And the same happens in the chassis, when deploying it, you have to block it with a click. If the red indicators disappear, it is wide open and you can lift the chairs and take the baby sitting in it. In summary, it unfolds super easy but you have to pay attention to the indicators.

The handlebars have to go straight and you will hear the two clicks of the two positions. It is designed to provide comfort to dads and moms based on their different heights. When the chassis is well locked, the chair is easily lifted with one hand. Then you pull up the backrest tape, open the ears of the hood that are folded and extend it. The stroller is ready to drive.

As I told you you can use it with the baby looking at the march, here you have two positions for the chair, or with the baby looking at dad and mom. In this last posture you have three possible positions, the first one allows you to extend all the backrest to facilitate the baby’s rest, in the second the little one is lying down and in the third upright. As you can see the Bugaboo Ant has incredible and intelligent features that make it the best travel stroller for any family.

Ready for everything

The surprising thing is that even being so small, compact and lightweight, it is ready for everything. It has an incredible storage of up to 8 kg. Yes, yes, as you read. It has two baskets that add a total available space to load those 8kg, 5 kgs one and 3 kgs in the other. In the rear shopping basket, the one that has a grid, you can leave all the objects because it is accessible even when we fold the stroller.

And as I said at the beginning of this review, it supports the weight of a child of up to 22 kg, when normal in second chairs or travel chairs on the market is up to 15 kg. Although you carry weight on it, the ride is very smooth and easy and this is thanks to its central suspension and the damping it has on all its wheels.

The Bugaboo Ant can become a practical trolley. Imagine what comfort to drag with one hand at the airport while with the other you take the child.

The hood is extensible with zippers and has sun protection. Like all Bugaboo strollers you can create yours by following your tastes and style. For the Bugaboo Ant, the brand proposes two chassis options in black and aluminum, as well as 5 style packs, which combine hood, chair, trim and tire color by default. What do you think? I think it is a well thought out and well designed product.

    Me encanta!!
