Oaks of Acorn, de Hong Kong al mundo

Y de Hong Kong a Barcelona. Hace tiempo que sigo a esta marca creada por dos emprendedoras por el mundo entero. Las vi en la feria de moda de París y luego en New York. El año pasado en primicia ya os presenté en Blogmodabebé su colección de moda primavera verano SS17 Hong Kiddo Sports Day, pero ahora lo hago de nuevo habiendo probado sus productos. A mi me gusta mucho su estética y cada colección se superan. Prueba es que cuando voy paseando por las ferias se me van los ojos a su stand y luego descubro que es Oaks of Acorn y allí está Bezanne una de sus creadoras para mostrarme todo lo nuevo. Para definiros lo que es esta marca os diría que es la esencia pura de los niños: suave, divertida, fresca, dinámica, juguetona… Y a ellos les gusta ¡Les encanta! Valentina tiene este vestido que hace honor al Ping Pong, fue amor a primera vista. Los prints de estilo vintage de esta colección son geniales. Seguid leyendo para conocerlos.

Ya sabéis que me canta contar las historias que hay detrás de las marcas. Lo primero que hice para documentarme fue buscar el significado de Oaks of Acorn: “encinas de la bellota”, está claro que no debemos guiarnos del traductor de Google sino preguntar a las creadoras y así lo hice. Oaks of Acorn significa “Mother of child”. Es decir, la marca prestigia con su nombre a las madres que son la figura inspiracional de sus hijos hasta que estos se hacen mayores.

El proyecto Oaks of Acorn nació en la Parsons School of Design. Allí se graduaron sus creadoras y empezaron a trabajar para múltiples marcas de moda en la ciudad de New York. Siempre próximas a la creatividad pero también a la practicidad a la hora de diseñar. Tiene claro que la ropa es simplemente un medio de expresión que configura nuestro estado de ánimo pero también le confiere sentido.

“A menudo usamos patrones clásicos porque lo que nos hace diferentes es la elección de telas, colores y detalles. Es como pintar sobre un lienzo”, me explican. Y así es, porque la tela del look que lleva Valentina es súper original. Es como una camiseta de Ping Pong con print de Ping Pong pero en vestido. Os encantará. La camiseta de Jorge también con el dibujo de un ventilador y una maleta vintage, es de esta colección SS17, me encanta.

“Después de años de formación y experiencia tanto en ropa de mujer como en ropa infantil, nos dimos cuenta de que este último mercado necesitaba firmas más sofisticadas capaces de desarrollar desde el gusto por la belleza y el sentido artístico en los niños. Creemos que los peques tienen que conocer el arte y la cultura desde una edad temprana. Así, llevadas por nuestra mente creativa, fundamos Oaks of Acorn en 2014″, me explican las creadoras. Su objetivo es encontrar un equilibrio entre estilo, diversión y comodidad para cada temporada. Os aseguro que están teniendo mucho éxito ya en Europa y los Estados Unidos. Y lo más bonito es que al principio eran un grupo de estudiantes, pero ahora ya son madres y empresarias, con lo cuál la proximidad al universo infantil se plasma en cada una de sus colecciones.

Como os contaba para esta primavera verano 2017 hace una oda a los atletas. El Ping Pong en su país es un deporte muy importante. Veréis ilustraciones lúdicas y coloridas acorde con la vida urbana enérgica y dinámica de Hong Kong pero también de los niños. En colores rojo, blanco y azul. Os animo a descubrir toda la colección en su web más allá de lo que veis aquí porque tienen otros diseños muy cool. Las telas son en su mayoría 100% algodón en piqué y gasa junto con otros tejidos muy interesantes. Han creado incluso una cápsula de yoga. Las rayas RWB (Rojo / Blanco / Azul) son importantes en esta colección, ya que estos colores que representan a Hong Kong. Ya estoy deseando presentaros los looks de la nueva temporada AW17-18 que descubrí en New York, si esta colección me encantaba os aseguro que en la próxima se superan.

OAKS OF ACORN, FROM HONG KONG TO THE WORLD

And from Hong Kong to Barcelona. I have been following this brand created by two entrepreneurs all over the world. I saw them at the fashion show in Paris and then in New York. Last year I first presented to you on Blogmodabebé their spring-summer fashion collection SS17 Hong Kiddo Sports Day, but now I do it again having tried their products. I really like their aesthetics and every collection is surpassed. Proof is that when I go walking through the fairs my eyes go to their stand and then I discover that it is Oaks of Acorn and there is Bezanne one of their creators to show me everything new. To define what this brand is, I would say that it is the pure essence of children: soft, fun, fresh, dynamic, playful … And they don’t just like it, they LOVE it! You know that I love to tell the stories behind the brands. The first thing I did to document myself was to find the meaning of Oaks of Acorn: “acorns of the acorn”, it is clear that we should not use Google translator as a guide but instead ask the creators, and I did. Oaks of Acorn means “Mother of child”. That is, the prestige brand with its name to the mothers who are the inspirational figure of their children until they grow older.

The Oaks of Acorn project was born at the Parsons School of Design. There they graduated their creators and they began to work for multiple brands of fashion in the city of New York. And that’s right, because the fabric from the look that Valentina is wearing is super original. It’s like a Ping Pong shirt with Ping Pong print but in dress. You will love it. The shirt of Jorge also with the drawing of a fan and a vintage suitcase, is of this collection SS17, I love it.

“After years of training and experience in both women’s clothing and children’s clothing, we realized that the latter market needed more sophisticated signatures capable of developing from the taste for beauty and artistic sense in children. We believe that children have to know art and culture from an early age. Thus, carried by our creative mind, we founded Oaks of Acorn in 2014 “, explain the creators. Its aim is to find a balance between style, fun and comfort for each season. I assure you that they are having great success already in Europe and the United States. And the most beautiful thing is that at first they were a group of students, but now they are mothers and businesswomen, which means that the proximity to the children’s universe is reflected in each of their collections.

As I told you this spring-summer 2017 makes an ode to the athletes. Ping Pong in their country is a very important sport. You will see playful and colorful illustrations in accordance with the energetic and dynamic urban life of Hong Kong but also of the children. In red, white and blue colors.
